~What Do I Do With It Now?~

Levels:
Advanced, intermediate, and all those who want to be challenged!

This workshop came about because of all the workshops I have taken over the years that left me asking, "What do I do with it now???"  I will answer that question for you and give you new ways to finish your work...and new ways to start.

Objective:
A creative environment for you to paint, to add to your own style and stretch your creative voice.

~Green Art Workshop~

In this workshop we will ask and answer the question “WHAT IF?”

We will use the everyday disregarded items, you will be amazed at what is at hand, little treasures just waiting to have a second life.

Why use recycled items?

1. inexpensive
2. easy to acquire
3. the challenge of discovery
4. and You are doing your part for the planet

A few of the things we will do with our found items: paint, collage, and print.  There are a lot of surprises in this class. Most important is to bring your imagination.

Now... what do we do with those broken eyeglasses??

  • How to do transfers.

  • How to work with text in a painting.

~What People Are Saying~

From: Diane Brown, Somers Point, New Jersey

Comments:

I started reading a book by Ian Roberts "Mastering Composition" where he outlines the foundation of the painting - 1 is the dynamics of the picture plane, 2 is the armature, 3 is abstract shapes (building blocks of the painting), 4 is subjects and 5 is details of the painting. He says that many students focus on #s 4 & 5. I think that you mastered composition and your work is inspiring.

CWC Workshop - April 12-13, 2008

Just wanted to say "Thanks" for your fantastic workshop this past weekend. Your demos were clear, concise and lots of fun. I came home with my head abuzzing with new ideas. Can't wait to attend another such session.

Toni: you are a gifted teacher as well as being a gifted artist. I not only enjoyed your workshop. I'm still enjoying it, meaning that so much of what you taught and demonstrated is living on for me. And P.S., your Yupo bracelet is beautiful. Thank you again for being such a generous and encouraging teacher.

Comments:

I took Toni's workshop at Hilton Leech in Sarasota about 5 years ago - we've been friends ever since. I love Toni's work ( have 2 of her paintings hanging in our living room) and the way she teaches and shares her knowledge so freely with her students.
