Coffee filters !!!! I love them !! NEVER, EVER throw away the filter when done with your a.m. coffee - they make wonderful collage papers !!!! Just remove from the coffee pot, lay the filter on a plate ,spread the grounds a round and let dry overnight. Remove all the grounds that will come off and then use matt medium to seal. Let dry. There are never two alike!  You can use them as is, or fold, tear, paint, etc ...
 

One thing I like to do that always is a BIG help to me is when I am looking at something in a magazine that inspires me I'll cut it out and add it to a sketch book that I've dedicated to 'Inspiration'.  At those time when I want to paint but haven't a clue what ... I'll pull one of my inspiration books out and away it'll take me!

Brainstorming generates and visualizes images.  When you are stuck, list words that come to mind spontaneously, no matter how unrelated they seem to be. The CRAZIER the better - reject nothing. One idea leads to another .

Activity:  I'll start you off:
GARDEN, flowers, bees, sky, water, nuts, squirrels...
Now add your own ,writing them down as quickly as they come so you don't think to much .. 

Hint: Start with a word that may be your subject for the work
(example: GARDEN). There's NO WRONG WORD.  Have fun!
